Christmas launch, bringing joy and festive cheer to the heart of Sligo. The renowned Sligo Christmas
Markets are set to return, captivating shoppers with a winter wonderland experience that promises
something for everyone.
Starting on Friday December 1st, the markets will open daily and run right through until Christmas,
featuring new and exciting stall holders each week. This diverse range of vendors ensures a dynamic
shopping experience for visitors seeking unique holiday gifts and seasonal treats.
Organiser of the Sligo Christmas Markets, Kellie Cadman, said: ‘We’re thrilled to bring a celebration of
craftsmanship and festive spirit to Quayside. Join us as we transform the Mezzanine floor of the
shopping centre into a haven of handcrafted wonders, creating memories and spreading holiday

Adding a touch of holiday magic, Quayside Shopping Centre has partnered with Ocean FM to bring a
live radio broadcast to the festivities. Join everyone’s favourite duo, Joe & Georgie, from 11am as
they cover the events LIVE from Quayside this Friday, amplifying the festive spirit throughout the
shopping centre.
The highlight of the launch will probably be the official opening of Santa’s Grotto, that will be
expertly managed and run this year by local Sligo company Party Party Time.
The Grotto was beautifully designed by Feehily’s Florist and offers a symphony of woodwork that leaves no detail unattended. The enchanting structure is adorned with intricate wooden designs, and on its roof,
reindeer figures add a touch of magic. This meticulously crafted grotto is destined to captivate the
hearts of children and evoke a sense of wonder, making it a holiday haven where dreams come alive.
Bookings for this enchanting experience can be done online through Eventbrite, ensuring a magical encounter with Santa for families in the community. The grotto will open every weekend up to Christmas.
As a testament to the spirit of giving, the Sligo Academy of Music will grace shoppers with some
delightful performances starting from 2.30pm, with all proceeds going to the Northwest Hospice
charity. Quayside Shopping Centre is always proud to support this worthy cause during the holiday
season.
