The festive season is officially starting at Quayside this Friday 29th November, with the launch of the hugely popular Sligo Christmas Markets.
As well as amazing Black Friday discounts across all stores, with some offers of up to 70% off, the festive fun will commence on Friday 29th November as the Artisan Christmas Market opens for the first time.
“The last few years we have created a multi-story winter wonderland experience in Quayside, with amazing decor, rustic Christmas market stalls and of course Santa’s grotto. It has been very popular with so many people saying they had never seen anything like it in the North West. This year we are building on that success and are looking forward to welcoming families from across the region to immerse themselves in a truly magical experience”, said centre Manager, Christine Dolan.
After the launch of the Christmas Markets and Black Friday this weekend, we look forward to welcoming Santa Claus and his elves the following weekend, who will be starting a tour of Sligo town in his horse drawn carriage on Friday 6th December and will make his way through the streets of Sligo before arriving back at the main Wine Street entrance to Quayside at 5pm for the official opening of his Grotto. The guest of honour will also be greeted by the men and ladies of The Shelly River Chorus who will be singing hymns and seasonal favourites for all the boys and girls as they wait to open the Grotto. Free family fun entertainment starts from 4pm in Quayside on Friday 6th December. Santa’s winter Grotto, which has been specially imported from the north pole for the occasion, will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6th December up to Monday 23rd December. Every child will be receiving an individually wrapped gift and can take their own photo with Santa if they wish.
