Style Savvy presenter and stylist Laura Jordan shared a sneak peek of what is to come from Summer 2018 collections at River Island!
Laura’s favourites transport us forward a few months to see what will be on shelves and rails for the coming fashion season…here is her top picks…
1. Versace-Style Fever
The iconic Versace-inspired print has made quite the impact for the season ahead, with the upcoming release of American Crime Story’s Assassination of Gianni biopic, the brand and its designs, both vintage and current, is sure to be a hot topic.
2. Pink Pop
Bubblegum pink was a huge trend last year and for the season ahead we have simply seen it soften to a dusty shade. With tonal and pattern clashes, it truly is a case of ‘anything goes’ when combining pink hues this Spring.
3. Tweed with a Twist
A heritage fabric is a sure bet in a new season collection, however this eclectic twist of colour combinations has given a fresh pop to this traditional style – we love the fresh styling to combine tweed with volumous cotton and resin embroidery detail, and a PVC rain mac to mix style and function in the most funky way.
4. Double Denim
Denim on the double continues to be a super strong feature of the Season ahead…straight skirt and layering of oversize jackets giving quite the edge to the look.
5. Not so Mellow Yellow
This colour combined with the eye-catching cut of these trousers truly make them a standout piece. Pair with a cropped top for the brave or a white t-shirt for day-to-day wear, some height is a key requirement for these lemon lovelies.
6. Delicate Details
Embroidered tulle is the perfect combination of detail and practicality for Summer evenings; tulle offering a flattering cover up to bare skin with the delicate floral details adding some gentle girlies to the look. Needle and Thread and Erdem have paved the way to creating this as a key trend for the season ahead.
